Job Summary:
The Food & Beverage Restaurant Manager at the Canoe Club at Palmetto Bluff sets the tone for an elevated, member-focused dining experience within a luxury private club environment, where attention to detail and genuine hospitality defines every interaction. This role leads and inspires the front-of-house team, ensuring service is intuitive, polished, and consistently exceeds expectations. In close partnership with culinary leadership, the manager drives operational excellence through thoughtful scheduling, team development, and disciplined cost control, while remaining highly visible on the floor. Success in this role requires a confident, service-driven leader who thrives on building relationships, anticipating member preferences, and delivering a refined yet warm and personalized dining experience.

Essential Job Functions:
Job duties include, although are not limited to:
- Oversight of the front of house operations to ensure established standards or service are consistently maintained for all meal periods.
- Establish a strong rapport and cooperation with the culinary team that is both cohesive and supportive.
- Responsible for on-going training and development of all service staff.
- Organizing and conducting pre-shift department meetings consistently and ensuring that all associates are well informed of pertinent information in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain a professional work environment where all standards are met consistently.
- Maintain POS system that is efficient, accurate, and up to date.
- Driving product and service culture by circulating on the floor, continually checking with guests and service staff to ensure satisfaction
- Training, supervising, scheduling, evaluating, and directing of all restaurant Associates
- Handling guest concerns in a prompt and professional manner
- Organizing, building, and maintaining a professional work environment
- Recruiting and training all bar Associates, ensuring staff continually improves their performance
- Managing overall profit and loss statements
- Ensuring par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering, and retrieving supplies and stocking shelves
- Completing reports on production, filling out necessary requisitions and controlling distribution of necessary supplies
- Providing direct service to guests as needed by serving and busing tables and seating guests
- Ensuring the department abides by all safety and sanitation policies
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- A minimum of two (2) years of previous Food and Beverage leadership experience required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prepare and analyze data, figures, and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer
- Must have intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages required
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Budgetary analysis capabilities required
- All Palmetto Bluff employees who serve alcohol or who oversee employees who serve alcohol must obtain or hold a valid SC-approved Alcohol Server Training Certificate (company reimbursed).
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
- Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
