About this Role
As a Senior Cost Specialist – Project Controls, EVM & Cost Performance Reporting, you will drive cost control and financial performance across large, multi-year utility EPC capital projects. You will partner closely with Project Managers, Project Controls, Engineering, and Construction teams to ensure accurate cost visibility, manage financial risk, and support data-driven decision-making across complex grid infrastructure programs
What You'll Do
- Track and control costs across EPC industrial projects
- Leverage JD Edwards, EcoSys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI for job cost tracking and reporting
- Manage budget vs. actuals, forecasts, and cost trends across multi-year capital programs
- Develop and maintain EACs and ETCs to support forecasting and Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting
- Analyze CPI (Cost Performance Index) and SPI (Schedule Performance Index) to assess project performance and identify risks early
- Support change management including change orders, budget adjustments, and cost impacts
- Provide EVM-based dashboards, cost reports, and forecasts for leadership and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Project Controls Execution Plans and company standards
- Act as a trusted cost advisor, supporting continuous improvement in cost performance management
What You'll Bring
- 4+ years of project cost control or project controls experience in EPC and/or heavy industrial construction
- Strong experience in cost forecasting, budget management, change management, and cost/schedule performance analysis
- Hands-on experience applying Earned Value Management (EVM) principles, including CPI, SPI, and variance analysis
- Experience in capital project environments (utility, infrastructure, or construction strongly preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE and/or EcoSys required, Procore preferred
- Ability to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights for leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field
