Registered Nurse - Forensic Nurse - Full Time

The registered nurse is a member of the nursing team. The registered nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to meet the physical, psychological, educational, social, and spiritual needs appropriate to the age of the patient served; as well as the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures. They will be responsible for coordinating patient care and establishing a trusting environment while assisting patients and their family members. The forensic nurse primarily gives care to patients affected by violence and trauma and is able to interact with agencies that respond to these patients. In addition to providing a complete medical forensic exam, they are trained to collect evidence maintaining chain of custody and provide expert testimony in court.
