1st Shift Shipping Coordinator start at $20/hr. based on experience

Position Summary:

The Shipping Coordinator verifies and keep’s records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, and shipping merchandise or material; verifying and recording outgoing merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. They will use various tools and techniques to support their assigned department. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepares bills of lading for each shipment and checks and records all items loaded for shipment, as needed.
• Assist in the oversight of fast paced Shipping department.
• Notifies manager when major discrepancies occur, over – shipments or substitutions have been made.
• Maintains shipping records.
• Prepares shipments via FedEx, UPS or other third-party carriers.
• Coordinates shipment schedules with drivers to reach customer requirements.
• Driving Shipping department to consistently meet or exceed established metrics.
• Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Manage logistics and shipping requirements, coordinating with production facilities to ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate with subcontractors to submit expedite requests and follow -up on open orders.
• Perform other related duties as instructed.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year relevant experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instruction. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of management.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

Environment/Physical Requirements with or without Accommodation:

This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 100lbs.
• Position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping. 
• Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.
