Overview
Per Diem Advanced Practice Provider – Medical Forensic / SANE Program
Cheshire Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our Medical Forensic / SANE Program. This role provides compassionate, trauma-informed care to patients presenting after sexual assault, interpersonal violence, abuse, and related concerns in collaboration with Emergency Medicine and multidisciplinary care teams.
The APP will perform comprehensive medical forensic evaluations, support evidence collection in accordance with New Hampshire standards, coordinate advocacy and follow-up services, and provide patient-centered care in a sensitive clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide trauma-informed forensic healthcare services to patients experiencing violence or abuse
- Conduct comprehensive medical forensic evaluations and detailed documentation
- Collaborate with Emergency Medicine providers, nursing, advocacy, behavioral health, and social work teams
- Facilitate evidence collection and maintain chain of custody standards
- Coordinate patient access to advocacy and follow-up support services
- Participate in peer review, team meetings, and ongoing program development
- Participate in legal proceedings as needed, including fact witness testimony when subpoenaed

Required Licensure/Certifications
- Associate’s degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
- Completion of approved Sexual Assault/Forensic Examiner coursework required
- Adherence to the State of New Hampshire Office of the Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Rules and Regulations for Currency of Practice
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New Hampshire required
- SANE, Emergency Medicine, Trauma, Women’s Health, or forensic care experience preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaborative care skills required
