Job Overview
The Assistant Accounting Manager provides instructional support, technical guidance, and professional mentorship to junior accountants, interns, title clerks and administrative staff. In this role, you will blend technical accounting expertise with educational leadership to build data confidence, reinforce best practices, and assist the accounting coach with daily accounting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Instructional Support: Support the dealership personnel with guidance regarding compliance and proper accounting procedures.
- Review Technical Work: Assist in evaluating financial statements, ledger entries, and finalizing reconciliations completed by junior accountants.
- Develop Training Content: Create guides and offer guidance to our designated accounting staff.
- Reinforce Compliance Rules: Guide learners through GAAP, and local tax compliance standards.
- Demonstrate Software Mastery: Coach users on navigating accounting platforms like Tekion, Intellinetics and Excel.
- Facilitate Problem Solving: Research, identify, and correct discrepancies in ledger accounts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional bookkeeping or general accounting experience required. Automotive experience preferred. Tekion (DMS) experience preferred.
- Education: Completed accounting courses or accounting certificate preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and accounting software.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written skills to break down complex financial concepts for non-experts.
