Job Description
Our Client's Children and Young People’s Service is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a busy statutory children’s team in North Yorkshire. This role involves holding and managing a varied caseload of Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) and Looked After Children (LAC) cases, as allocated by the Team Manager or Assistant Team Manager.
The postholder will undertake high-quality assessments and work closely with multi-agency partners to develop, monitor, and manage effective plans that deliver positive and timely outcomes for children and young people.
What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will:
- Hold and manage a varied caseload of Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC) cases
- Undertake high-quality statutory assessments in line with legislation, guidance, and local procedures
- Formulate, implement, monitor, and review child-centred plans to promote children’s safety and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve timely and sustainable outcomes for children and young people
- Ensure the voice of the child is central to all assessments, planning, and decision-making
- Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records and reports using electronic case management systems
- Participate in supervision and reflective practice with the Team Manager or Assistant Team Manager
- Work in accordance with North Yorkshire County Council policies and statutory requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have:
- A degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Social Work
- Registration with Social Work England
- Post-qualified experience within Children’s Services
- Experience working with CIN, CP, and LAC cases
- Strong knowledge of statutory social work legislation and safeguarding frameworks
- Ability to work effectively with families and partner agencies
- Eligibility to work in the UK
