Job Description

Workday HCM Specialist — People Tech

📍 São Paulo, Brazil | People Team

Take a look at life at SumUp São Paulo 👉 São Paulo

About the team

Our People Tech team is on a mission to enable long-term scalability at SumUp — building the systems and data foundations that help our People function grow without losing its human touch. At the centre of that is Workday: our core HR platform used by thousands of SumUppers across 37 markets. This role sits at the heart of that ecosystem, owning the configuration, improvement, and reliability of our Workday HCM setup as we scale. If you're someone who finds genuine satisfaction in making complex systems work simply and well — and who wants their work to have a real impact on how people experience their day-to-day at a global fintech — this is the role for you.

What you'll do

  • Configure and continuously improve Workday's Core HCM module, ensuring our processes are scalable, consistent, and easy to navigate
  • Partner with People Operations, Payroll, and business stakeholders to translate real needs into thoughtful system design — improving workflows, automation, and data quality
  • Strengthen document generation, validation logic, and reporting structures to reduce manual work and prevent downstream errors
  • Build and maintain reliable reports and dashboards that support accurate, informed decision-making across the business
  • Provide clear, empathetic guidance to SumUppers using Workday, helping them feel confident and supported
  • Contribute to documentation, change management, and sustainable configuration standards that keep our setup clean as we grow

You'll be great for this role if…

  • Hands-on experience configuring Workday HCM Core, with a solid understanding of Staffing, Worker Data, Organisations, Business Processes, and Reporting — experience with additional modules such as Time Tracking or Compensation is a plus; equivalent experience with SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or ADP Workforce is also considered.
  • Comfort working with structured datasets to validate configuration changes and ensure reliable, accurate outputs
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, with a sharp eye for data accuracy and detail
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and translate business requirements into scalable, well-structured system solutions
  • A mindset oriented towards simplification, standardisation, and continuous improvement
  • Advanced English — this is a must, as you'll collaborate closely with global teams and stakeholders across SumUp

Why you should join SumUp

  • 🌎 Opportunity to work with a truly global, multicultural team from our dynamic São Paulo hub in the heart of the city. This involves an office-first setup
  • 🌈 Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: be part of a workplace that values and promotes diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone's perspectives are respected and embraced
  • 🚀 Enrolment onto our Virtual Stock Option programme: you will own a stake in SumUp's future success
  • 📚 A dedicated annual L&D budget of R$ 10,000 for education, certifications, and conferences
  • 🏖 Generous time off: enjoy 22 working days of paid leave, plus public holidays and special leave days
  • 💪 Stay fit: Wellhub membership included and gym at the office
  • 💼 Financial wellness: SumUp contributes to your private retirement plan with Santander
  • 🧠 Mental well-being: access to Zenklub for therapy, coaching, and emotional wellness resources
  • 🍽 Meal support: benefit from a tax-free food voucher programme with Pluxee
  • 🌴 Break4me: 1-month sabbatical after 3 years of service
  • 🔗 Referral Bonus: earn additional rewards by referring talented individuals to join the SumUp team
