Purpose of Role

Primary responsibility includes overseeing day to day operations and reporting of the Financial and Accounting department and Procurement function for 1-2 schools in Thailand. This includes business partnering and commercial finance, production of monthly financial reports and budgets, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the schools reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with international and Thai financial reporting standards

 ISP Finance Manager Key Responsibilities

Management of Accounting and Finance

  • Oversee and manage the accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze both statutory and management financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Business partnering with the Head(s) of School and Regional Finance Director
  • Budgeting, financial planning and analysis and monitor performance so that targets are achieved.
  • Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to the school leadership team and the regional team in monthly review calls
  • Perform the accounting, month end and year end closing and ensure that the books and records are accurate and in compliance with regulations and management requirements
  • Ensure the schools are in strict compliance in term of corporate governance; tax and other finance/accounting related requirements
  • Prepare management reports and financial information requested by Management and ISP Group
  • Prepare, manage and perform variance analysis of School annual budgets
  • Monitor cashflow and cash flow forecast on regular basis
  • Advise management and individuals regarding the tax regulation
  • Update and enhance the financial policies and procedures of the school and maintain a documented system of policies and procedures and make recommendations for improvements
  • Liaise with with banks, auditors and tax advisors
  • Streamline the Financial Organisation and build up shared services to provide accounting and procurement services for more than one school in an efficient manner
  • Ensure general ledger and financial statements of schools are complete and accurate by performing monthly general ledger reconciliations including deferred income and other account analysis

Purchasing Management

  • Monitor purchasing process and manage purchasing activities to ensure P&P compliance and efficiency of quality, cost and delivery
  • Manage contracts, Purchase orders and and supplier relationship under delegated POA & DOA
  • Identify and report on school purchasing savings

 Systems

  • Implement and improve ISP systems for Accounting, Procurement and School Management.
  • Manage and coach staff to comply with internal policies and maximize the use of any relevant information and applications

Others

  • Detect and address potential compliance issues proactively
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve shared goals
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Regional Finance Director/Head(s) of School

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance or other related majors
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalents are preferrable
  • Minimum 8 years of managerial level in Finance and Accounting field
  • Experience with setting up and providing Shared Services.
  • Knowledge in generally accepted accounting standard (IFRS and Thai accounting standars), budgeting, and fiscal control principles
  • Relevant computer software skills and familiarity with accounting software.
