The Thacher School is one of the most selective and highly regarded boarding schools in the nation. Founded in 1889 by Sherman Day Thacher, the School serves academically talented students from over 20 states and close to 10 countries in a rigorous college preparatory experience. The faculty and students live and work closely together on a 427-acre campus nestled in the foothills of the Los Padres National Forest in Ojai, California (85 miles north of Los Angeles). Position Requirements and Responsibilities
- Provide students with transportation to and from local medical appointments
- Be present in the appointment as acting guardian of student while they are away from campus
- Ensure students parents/guardians conference called during appointment to help make medical decisions while physician or other leading medical provider is in the room
- Work collaboratively with the campus physician, members of the Health Center team, and students' parents/guardians to ensure quality healthcare during student medical appointments
- Maintain a polite, welcoming, respectful, and safe environment for our students as they are transported to and from and guided through each appointment
Other Requirements
A current (or ability to obtain) California driver license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to transport students in school-owned vehicles. A criminal background check must be successfully completed before employment can begin. Salary Range
Salary Range Payment structure is dependent on drive distance:
- Ojai- $35, approximately a 1.5 hour time commitment
- Ventura- $60, approximately a 2.5 hour time commitment
- Camarillo/Oxnard/Santa Paula- $75 approximately a 3 hour time commitment
- Santa Barbara -$90, approximately a 4 hour commitment
Of note, drives may be paid at a higher rate depending on appointment time variability.
