Job Description
Summary: A Daily’s Trainer is responsible for coordination of training delivered on the production floor and for providing skills-based training to employees as needed. While in their trainer role, they will assess the training needs of employees and adapt the style of training to meet those needs. They will also complete regular reports to assist in the evaluation of training programs and learning outcomes. Must enjoy working with people and be able to handle pressure related deadlines. Bilingual required to facilitate training and plant communications. Position requires substantial amount of time working in the production areas to be effective in this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
- Exemplify and train on all applicable safety, food safety, quality, and policy rules, encouraging compliant behavior in others.
- Provide standardized training within the department based upon written and electronic SOPs.
- Updates Management daily on current training objectives and results
- Takes part in and supports one-on-one and group training to employees
- Leads by modeling desired behaviors and coaches’ other employees to do the same
- Identifies and uses training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things
- Tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training
- Maintains own training certification in required areas.
- Assist the Training Manager in creating training plans for new and transferring employees.
- Work with Daily’s managers in building, assisting, and supporting the implementation of plant SOP, and other learning processes.
- Use required software, such as Alchemy and Redzone, to administer and record training.
- Assists in improving retention through relationship-building and fostering a positive, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist in interpretation needs for the plant, including but not limited to town halls, training, and other employment-related meetings.
- Maintains skill level in all aspects of production for the department
- Exemplary attendance record required
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must be bilingual, including English, with the ability to interpret, translate, read, speak, and write in English. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred; 6 months or more in a food production environment a plus
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Able to communicate information and ideas bilingually in speaking so others will understand. Effectively respond to questions from employees, Supervisors, Quality Control Technicians, Maintenance and Managers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations and perform necessary calculations for completing departmental paperwork
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to work with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period without being distracted
- Proficient in computer systems, with ability to navigate through and become proficient in Redzone and other Daily’s software.
- Flexible to change (positive or negative) and considerable variety in the workplace
- Accepts criticism and deals calmly and effectively with high stress situations
- Ability to quickly become knowledgeable in recording and transferring training material to various training formats – and multiple languages
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the physical capacity to perform all production and production-related positions to demonstrate how to successfully complete employee job requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extremely cold (lower than 45ºF) and/or extremely hot temperatures (up to 100ºF).
WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. The typical schedule would follow a Monday - Friday format; Dayshift 5:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Nightshift 2:30 p.m. – 11:55 p.m.
