Job Purpose
Collaborate with design from feasibility through design phase to achieve a product that can be manufactured with-in the factory’s capabilities while working with MMC’s to prepare and execute the trial phase of the new model developmen
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct feasibilities studies and detailed confirmations of new technologies, design concepts and manufacturing processe
- Identify past model problem history, opportunities for cost savings and safety concern
- Collaborate with product designers to develop most efficient manufacturing proces
- Ensure a robust process design for mass production combining manufacturing requirements, factory characteristics and project targets
- Through the New Model development, create and maintain all documents necessary for process, quality, robot/equipment, training to meet certification and support daily production needs for the new model
- Support launch of the vehicle during initial production at the factory (T stage
- Lead and support collaborative problem solving activity with team members from final assembly factory, regional new model, and product design
- Develop capability of self, colleagues, and team through training, mentoring, and sharing of experiences in area of technical expertise and understanding for succession planning and team growt
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) or equivalent related experience
- 2+ years experienc
- Excel, Power Point, Catia, Read Drawings, Honda Issue Management systems (IMS, CRF), Honda drawing structure and drawing creation, NA factory line characteristi
Working Conditions
- Generally, first shift production hours, occasional split/second shift support required. 0-5 hours OT weekly
- 20% Fast-paced high-energy manufacturing environment, 80% office environment
- Travel 10% per year depending on project location/status
