About The Opportunity
Position SummaryResponsible for all activities associated with running the rotary die presses including setup, operation, inspection, cleanup and recommending improvements to operations.
Pay Band and Position Status
Pay Band: $24.00 hourly

Essential Job Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, stock specifications, colors, special printing instructions, and any special customer requirements
Perform make-ready and operate flexographic printing press efficiently
Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively
Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned press
Stage stock in preparation for next roll change to keep press running properly
Install the proper inks in the correct press units and maintains their levels during the press run
Adjust press throughout the run to maintain position and registration
Assist with the removal, replacement, and maintenance of rollers, dies, and other items related to the press
Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product
Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
Play an active role in the maintenance, turns in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding work area
Contribute to overtime needs to meet customer demands
Provide informal leadership to the Flexo Helper/Second Pressman to accomplish production objectives
Actively participates in Lean manufacturing initiatives
· Ensures and supports to make sure Food safety, Quality, HACCP and GMP is always followed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Mechanical aptitude
Must have good color perception
Knowledge of inks and solvent characteristics and effects in different uses
Flexibility to work various shifts dependent on manning needs as schedules and/or workload changes
High school math, reading and writing skills
Able to read measuring tape, calipers with speed and accuracy.
Able to calculate figures and amounts, such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
Must have a working knowledge of the following: equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation; product drawings, layouts, and production specifications; product quality specifications
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
6+ months of experience in the rotary die cutting industry or 6+ months’ experience in a manufacturing environment with experience operating and setting up automatic or semi-automatic equipment preferred
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
6+ months of experience in the rotary die cutting industry or 6+ months’ experience in a manufacturing environment with experience operating and setting up automatic or semi-automatic equipment preferred
Ability to stand 8 hours
Must be able to use hands for grasping rolls of paper product to position into the feed end of press
Must be able to push and pull skids of product using pallet jack frequently during shift (measured peak force = 64 lbs., measured sustained force = 35 lbs.)
Must be able to reach above shoulder height at times to remove items from shelving units
Must be able to lift 85 lbs. maximum
Frequent bending, lifting, and walking
