Position Title: Buyer

Location: Assembly Drive, Rockford, IL 61109

Shift:  1st Shift

Responsible for negotiating and procuring component and materials. Evaluates vendor services and quotes to determine most desirable vendor. Supports customer demand using effective management of a diverse and cost-efficient base of certified vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate sales quote to select vendors for quoting process opportunity.

  • Manage all vendor and communications related, but not limited to component or material orders including transport or carrier damage, non-conforming component or material, and paperwork discrepancy.

  • Set goals to track KPI's and measure results in accordance with the site's vision and goals of 2-3% savings year over year. Utilize data analytics to review supplier performance on KPI's and drive continuous improvements.

  • Support existing and new component purchases with the selection of the most capable, cost-effective suppliers to meet the material specifications.

  • Drive Vendor Management to ensure the highest level of quality and service. Selects and partners with key suppliers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality deliver of products.

  • Partner with key functions, including finance, estimating, business development, and operations to drive results that align to the site's goals and objectives.

  • Develop innovative and bold strategies to drive savings in new ways while managing, engaging, and promoting continuous cost reduction and quality improvement efforts.

  • Be a liaison between vendors, business units, and operations teams, to deal with material or service issues in a timely fashion.

  • Identify and leverage opportunities for continuous improvement and manage financial risk.

  • Analyze purchase price variances compared to quote.

  • Ensure that all components will run on selected PCI machines for production. Manage inventory levels, warehouse capacity, and slow-moving inventory.

  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and processes for the entire Procurement team. This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.

  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 1-5 years related experience and/or training.

  • College Level Mathematical Skills

  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.

  • Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.

  • High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms.

  • Ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgment.

  • Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires.

  • Ability to display a willingness to make decisions.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment daily.

  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

For Illinois residents:  the hiring rate for this position is $62,960K to $70,830K plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including but not limited to specific and relevant experience, education, credentials, geography, and subject matter expertise.
