Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITYLouisiana Cat is seeking an Assembly Technician-Electrical to join our growing operations at the New Iberia, LA location. The role of the Assembly Technician- Electrical is to ensure assigned packaging performance objectives are met safely, on schedule, and within budget.YOUR CONTRIBUTIONElectrical wiring of control panels, harnesses and interconnected equipment for engines and generators to meet customer requirementsUnderstand technical drawings, specifications of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirementsInspect completed power system and controls installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design, equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standardsDetermine nature, extent and troubleshoot issues, and recommend remedial measuresUtilizes corporate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to enter time and project notesFollow and enforce all safety rules and procedures; identify and report all safety issues Complete training requirements identified by Caterpillar to earn and maintain job specific training certifications as requiredEmbrace and support quality management system initiates to achieve a continuous improvement environmentJOB FACTS- SHIFT SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 40+ hours a week.- WORK ENVIRONMENT: Requires physical movement, lifting, squatting, and bending per the job descriptionSAFETY IN ALL WE DOWe require strict compliance with PPE (personal protective equipment) safety regulations.We maintain compliance with all Federal, State and Local safety and company regulations.All employees must follow all Company Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) procedures.Louisiana Cat is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana and THC products.
REQUIRED: High School Diploma or (GED) equivalentPREFERRED: 2 year degree or equivalent electrical experienceREQUIRED: Capable of understanding electrical schematics and recognizing basic electrical componentsREQUIRED: Basic wireman skillsREQUIRED: Able to use and understand a digital multi-meter REQUIRED: Capable of routing marine and petroleum armor cable and terminating in panelsREQUIRED: Capable of bending conduit and stainless steel tubing
