
Associate/ Senior Associate: Construction Disputes
Job Description
As an Associate, or Senior Associate, you will have good judgment, excellent analytical skills and broad subject matter experience across construction disputes. Experience in regulatory issues (especially ACCC, ASIC and AER), private international law, public international law, corporate and other commercial issues will be highly regarded. Organised and self-motivated, you’ll be a team player with a strong professional presence and client focus.
The roles and responsibilities include:
Support claims and disputes strategy for clients involved in major projects and oversee counsel and experts to implement strategy.
Draft motions, trial briefs, examination outlines and other documents for domestic and international matters.
Assists in developing case strategies by analysing legal issues and contributing to strategy discussions with senior lawyers
Guide clients through regulatory investigations.
Coordinate experts and Counsel engagements.
Coordinates discovery processes, including reviewing and organising documents, and managing evidence collection
May co-ordinate work of more junior members of the team (if at senior level)
Skills and experience we are looking for:
Australian qualified PQE 4-7 years of litigation experience
Team player, who adopts a ‘team first’ mindset
Good understanding of the key risks and issues involved in multi-party construction disputes
Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity
Self-starter and takes ownership and accountability for tasks
Solid communication and collaboration skills
Resilient, solutions-focused and can work effectively and productively under pressure
Client service focus
