Wendel is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated professional to join our Project Management team in our Albany, NY, or Middletown, CT offices. This individual will support the Wendel Companies Project Management Office (PMO) purpose and values while providing specific task management and follow through of those tasks with a level of self-diligence and motivation along with associated accountability of the following:

  • Actively participate in the development and negotiation of project fees & budgets
  • Actively monitor and control the project scope and project plan
  • Participate in the selection of project team members
  • Evaluation of project team members
  • Actively monitor and control project budget(s)
  • Maintain accurate earned revenue, projections, and invoicing
  • Actively monitor and control the project schedule maintain report with clients and project team members
  • Actively monitor and control the QA/QC process
  • Are accountable for the success of a project

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Project Management Reporting: manage and validate timely and accurate completion project management reports including percent complete, backlog and sale forecast reports. 
  • Develop, review, and monitor project work plans including scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables. 
  • Real-time planning, management, control, follow-ups and resolution of internal discipline, sub-consultant, client/stakeholder and contractor assignments, issues, and conflicts.
  • Facilitate weekly updates of PHA’s and EVA’s and evaluate and control project budget. 
  • Review and develop project schedule and production of project deliverables. 
  • Organize internal staff and external client project meetings, including preparation of agendas, handouts, etc., prepare and distribute issues lists and prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Assist with resource balancing. 
  • Plan, manage and control project related communications between client, stakeholders, staff, sub-consultants, and contractors and manage client relationships.
  • Review, assess and report of missed deliverables or issues related to critical project components (scope, change, quality, time management).
  • Facilitate internal and external quality review.
  • Organize and prepare prime and sub-consultant contract scope, schedule, fee, and deliverable changes. Follow-up on execution of contract amendments. 
  • Organize and schedule client/stakeholder public meetings and presentations, including preparation of presentation handouts, power-point presentations, graphics, etc. 
  • Manage in a virtual world, leveraging unified communication technologies.
  • Assist Client Sector Leaders, Project Sponsors PIC’s and other PMs with sales and marketing activities including letter proposal development with internal staff and sub-consultants, preparation for interviews.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, with 2 -5 years of experience in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction or Energy fields.
  • Preference for candidates who have taken PM classes or courses.
  • CAPM or PMP Certification a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites is preferred. 
  • Experience in creating project schedules in programs such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or Procore is preferred. 
  • Strong customer service, verbal and written communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently on tasks.
  • Working toward a career as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Excellent problem solving, and decision-making skills, especially under difficult circumstances.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000

Wendel is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. Salary offered will be determined based the successful candidates’ relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.
