Senior Highway Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Highway Engineer with a PE license and 10+ years of highway engineering experience to lead the design and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead highway design projects from concept through completion
• Prepare engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents
• Ensure compliance with AASHTO standards and DOT regulations
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and manage permitting
• Conduct traffic studies, cost estimates, and feasibility analyses
• Mentor junior engineers and manage consultant relationships
• Review technical deliverables for accuracy and quality

Required Qualifications

• License: Current PE (Professional Engineer) in Civil Engineering
• Experience: 10+ years in highway engineering
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in highway design software (Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of AASHTO standards and DOT specifications
  • Traffic engineering and transportation planning expertise
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
• PMP or PTOE certification
• Experience with sustainable infrastructure design
• GIS and data analysis proficiency
