Summary:

The Family/Intake Therapist will provide intake assessments in the Emergency Department and over the phone to determine appropriate level of care and treatment. Provides family assessments, family therapy, crisis intervention, and telephone triage for psychiatric inpatients, PHP, ER, and discharged patients. Participates in group therapy, multi-disciplinary treatment, diagnostic conferences, and diagnostic interviews. Provides case management services for all patients. Manages patients mental health benefits, and keeps informed of all information regarding the patients treatment and their payor. Available for Intake on-call on as needed basis.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.

• LMSW, LCSW or LPC in the state of Texas.

• Qualified as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) by the Texas Department of Health.

• Experience providing family therapy.

• Hospital and pediatric experience preferred.

• Education in Child growth and development required.

• CPR Heartsaver; CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Childrens Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
