Your Impact

You will partner closely with the EMEA Engineering Chief Operating Officer (COO) team and key stakeholders to support complex organizational and business initiatives. This role is designed to help align the Engineering division with its rapidly changing environment, optimize operational processes, and increase engagement with engineers internally and externally to attract and retain top talent. Responsibilities and Qualifications
In this role as an Associate on the EMEA Engineering COO team, you will partner with cross-divisional teams to support the execution of EMEA Engineering’s strategic priorities. Key initiatives may include supporting location strategy, people strategies, optimizing Engineering-specific processes, and coordinating targeted internal or external meetings.
You will develop a broad understanding of the Engineering organization, IT infrastructure, and the complexities of the financial services industry. You will help the COO team accelerate organizational transformation through clear, structured, and empathetic communication. The value you create will be rooted in data-driven insights, reporting, and cross-team collaboration. You will also leverage your advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills to create executive-ready presentations and manage complex datasets to elevate our Goldman Sachs Engineering brand and streamline business operations.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in business management, corporate strategy, COO support, project management, or operations roles within technology or financial services.
- Understanding of the financial services industry and IT/technology concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including Excel skills in pivot tables, data manipulation, and financial/operational modelling, as well as the ability to translate complex analyses into polished, executive-ready presentations and visual narratives.
- Proven track record of supporting end-to-end projects, tracking deliverables, managing risk, and ensuring stakeholder alignment across multiple workstreams.
- Ability to identify operational bottlenecks, document workflows, and suggest automated or optimized processes to drive efficiency.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience building and maintaining management dashboards, KPIs, and operational reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable drafting briefings and messaging for senior stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
