As a business application consulting generalist at PwC, you will provide consulting services for a wide range of business applications. You will leverage a broad understanding of various software solutions to assist clients in optimising operational efficiency through analysis, implementation, training, and support.

Responsibilities 
📈 Observability & Reliability Engineering 
Framework Implementation: Design, deploy, and maintain an enterprise-wide observability framework utilizing tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, or Azure Monitor/AWS CloudWatch. 
 
Reliability Metrics Management: Partner with product and engineering teams to define, implement, and track Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs), managing the application Error Budgets to balance velocity with stability. 
 
Distributed Tracing & Logging: Implement end-to-end distributed tracing and centralized logging across microservices to minimize Mean Time to Detection (MTTD) and Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR). 
 
🛠️ Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD Automation 
Multi-Cloud Infrastructure: Provision, scale, and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS (EKS, EC2, RDS, IAM) or Azure (AKS, VMSS, Azure SQL, Entra ID) using production-grade Terraform or OpenTofu. 
Deployment Reliability: Optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps) to support safe, progressive delivery deployment strategies (canary, blue/green) and automated rollbacks. 
 
💻 Advanced Scripting & Toil Reduction 
Automation Engineering: Develop sophisticated automation scripts and internal tooling using Python, Go, or advanced PowerShell/Bash to eliminate repetitive operational work (toil). 
Chaos Engineering & Testing: Conduct game days, chaos engineering experiments (using tools like Gremlin or Chaos Mesh), and load testing to proactively identify and mitigate systemic failure modes. 
Incident Management: Participate in an on-call rotation, leading blameless post-mortems to ensure root causes are identified, documented, and permanently remediated. 
 
Technical Skills & Qualifications 
Must-Have Core Skills: 
Experience: 5+ years of experience in an SRE, DevOps, or Systems/Software Engineering role. 
 
Cloud Proficiency: Deep, hands-on production experience with either Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS). 
Infrastructure as Code: Advanced proficiency with Terraform, including writing modular, reusable state files. 
Advanced Scripting/Programming: Strong coding skills in Python or Go (Golang) for building production-grade internal tools and automation. 
Containerization: Robust experience managing production workloads on Kubernetes (AKS or EKS) and Docker. 
SRE Fundamentals: Proven track record of managing systems via SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs, along with implementing comprehensive alerting systems. 
 
Preferred Experience: 
Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, or SaltStack). 
Familiarity with database reliability engineering for SQL/NoSQL databases under heavy loads. 
Understanding of networking protocols, load balancing, CDN implementations, and cloud security best practices.
