Job Description

Shuttle Drivers (CDL) transports Methodist and Aramark Employees to their respective destinations maintaining proper etiquette and driving expertise at all times.  Each driver must integrate Aramark’s values to serve with passion and ICARE Values consistent with The Methodist Hospital Policies (HR01).  Under the direct supervision of the Shuttle Supervisor and Assistant Manager, this position will perform according to established procedures as described for Shuttle Drivers.  Expected duties are to maintain a high quality of service that meets and exceeds the company’s code of conduct.   

Job Responsibilities

• Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers and co-workers.  Is responsive to customer needs.  
• Maintain your assigned bus or van in a clean and neat manner.
• Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment.
• Maintain proper speed at all times and following all traffic laws
• Maintain responsibility for attendance and punctuality.
• Dresses in designated uniform and adhering to proper personal hygiene when reporting to work and performing job duties.
• Promote effective interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships, maintaining professional conduct at all times.
• Adherence to departmental and company annual training commitments.
• Conduct pre-trip inspection/ DVIR, Complete DVIR daily per shift.Abide by DOT and FMCSA Regulations. Submit documents to the Supervisor at the end of each shift.   
• Drivers must not operate a vehicle that has been identified safety-related defects during pre-trip inspection.
• Maintain rider count sheet log efficiently.
• Maintain proper Two-way radio communications at all times
• Report all accidents/incidents and or citations to Shift Supervisor immediately.
• Complete and submit Certificate of Violations/Annual Review of Driving Record annually.
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned as work is expected to vary with changing needs and priorities. Management may revise duties/schedule at any time.  

Qualifications

• •    Must be age 21 years or older
  •    1 year + professional driving experience and vehicle mechanical experience is preferred as well as customer service experience
  •    Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
  •    Must have a valid Commercial Driver License (Class B or C) with a clean driving record showing 5 years of prior safe driving
  •    Must pass a DOT physical examination and obtain a medical card
  •    Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and participate in the random drug/alcohol testing pool
  •    Must complete and pass Defensive Driving Course prior to driving a company vehicle  
  •    Drivers may be required to have a passenger endorsement or airbrake endorsement to be able to drive all vehicles
  •    Experience driving in all weather conditions including winter weather and tire chain installation
  •    Equipment Used: Company Vehicle, Walkie-Talkie, Hand Truck, Computer, Hand Truck, Photocopier, Printer, Telephone,
  •    Travel Requirements: Little or no travel required (less than 10%)
  This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
