Job Opening: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Full-Time
Location: Moraga Post Acute
Compensation: $45.00 per hour

Moraga Post Acute is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will work closely with the Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality therapy services that help residents maximize their independence, improve functional abilities, and enhance their overall quality of life.
Essential Responsibilities
Direct Resident Care
Provide occupational therapy treatments and interventions as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Assist residents in achieving established treatment goals and improving performance in activities of daily living (ADLs).
Documentation
Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and third-party payer guidelines.
Safety & Compliance
Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control procedures, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance standards.
Ensure all therapy services are delivered in compliance with applicable regulations and professional standards.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Participate in resident care conferences, rehabilitation meetings, and interdisciplinary team discussions as needed.
Communicate resident progress, concerns, goals, and discharge plans with the Occupational Therapist, physicians, nursing staff, residents, and family members.
Staff Training & Education
Assist in training Restorative Nursing Aides and other staff members to support resident rehabilitation programs.
Provide in-service education and training related to occupational therapy programs and resident care practices.
Resident & Family Education
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, safety measures, and fall prevention strategies.
Equipment Recommendations
Recommend and assist with obtaining adaptive equipment and durable medical equipment (DME) to promote resident independence and safety, including assistive devices, splints, grab bars, elevated toilet seats, and other adaptive tools.
Quality Improvement
Participate in quality assurance initiatives, performance improvement projects, and rehabilitation program development activities.
Professionalism
Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information at all times.
Report equipment issues promptly and contribute to maintaining an organized and efficient therapy department.
Build positive, professional relationships with residents, families, staff, and healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
Current California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing.
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Previous experience in a skilled nursing, post-acute, or rehabilitation setting preferred.
Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
