Location: Santa Clara, CA 

SI-BONE® is focused on helping patients in one of the most under-served, under-diagnosed, and under-treated areas in orthopedics, the sacroiliac (SI) joint. SI-BONE developed an innovative, patented implant to fuse the SI joint. The iFuse Implant System® provides a less invasive alternative to traditional sacroiliac (SI) joint fusion surgery and has been used in over 90,000 procedures to date.

General Responsibilities: 

The Legal Intern will assist SI-BONE's Legal Department in day-to-day contract management, document review, and corporate governance activities. This role offers exposure to the full lifecycle of commercial agreements and corporate legal operations within a medical device company. The ideal candidate is a student with strong attention to detail and a passion for corporate and transactional law. 

Specific Responsibilities and Skills:

  • • Drafting of a variety of commercial agreements including but not limited to Data Use Agreements (DUA), Healthcare Professional Agreements (HCP), and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) 
    • Corporate negotiations with vendors, distributors, resellers, and collaborators, gaining practical exposure to commercial deal-making in a regulated industry
    • Redlining and reviewing incoming agreements from third parties, identifying key issues and flagging areas of concern for attorney review  
    • Classification, organization, and maintenance of legal documents and agreements within the company's online document repository, ensuring accurate categorization and version control
    • Review and summarization of internal corporate documents such as governance records

Requirements:

  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited university or law school
    • Demonstrate a strong interest in corporate, transactional, or healthcare law
    • Have an interest in strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
    • Have the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Knowledge, Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.).
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
  • Engaged in coursework or projects related to the industry or role is a plus.

Salary range: $20 per hour
