
Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Utilizes engineering, lean manufacturing, and variation minimization techniques to develop and implement processes and tooling for the fabrication of parts, finishing and assembly, components, subassemblies, and final products. Leads manufacturing continuous improvement initiatives. Verifies that resulting methods meet current ergonomic laws and guidelines. Develops work instructions, procedures and illustrations. Estimates manufacturing costs, determines production standards and makes recommendations for tooling and processing requirements. Actively involved in the purchase of capital equipment. Works with employees responsible for maintenance, ensures best practice preventive maintenance is implemented, and ensures processes are available when needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
|
Technical Competencies:
- BS in Manufacturing Engineering, or other applicable field, or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (3) years of applicable and diversified experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a metal fabrication environment.
- In-depth training and experience/implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
- Experience with Six Sigma, preferably trained at a green or black belt level.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA safety requirements preferred.
- High aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing facility-related activities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ERP systems.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to travel domestically 25-50%.
- Lift up to 25 lbs.
Pay Range $80,000 - $82,000/yr
