About the role:
Reporting to the Environmental Lead, the Coordinator, Environment is responsible for compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, primarily with our air permit and waste permit issued under the Environmental Management Act, as well as with the provincial Spill Reporting Regulations. This includes coordination and execution of environmental management programs, monitoring programs, internal and external reporting requirements, and other deliverables.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on site at an operating surface steel-making coal mine, with a portion of your time spent in the field.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication, who can effectively build and foster relationships with other departments while engaging with communities of interest and professionals at all levels of the organization for the purpose of influencing and implementing continuous improvement. In addition, strong problem-solving, critical thinking, organizational, time management, and analytical skills as well as someone who is self-motivated and passionate and has the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are vital for this role.
