Do you want to join a highly motivated and trusted international team covering the major locations in Europe and MEE, well known as a Business Partner Community providing leadership, service, and insight in all commercial related activities?
We are looking for you to join our team as a Commercial Business Partner (f/m/d) for the Global Commercial Finance (GCF) Service Organization. Our Services Commercial team provides support for the Services Sales Team tasked with selling Services solution portfolio into our large enterprise and subsidiary customer base.
You will support the Services Sales Team from the early stages of deal structuring and review, through to the final contract stage. All this in close collaboration with the different Commercial Business Subject Matter Experts and Services & Sales Management. You will hold a key position in strategic deal shaping and approval by focusing on actively building and maintaining trustful and cooperative business-oriented partnerships with Sales, Customer Evolution & Adoption (CE&A) and GFA Organizations.
Summary & Role Information
As a member of our Commercial Business Partner team, you will serve as a trusted advisor providing value-added advisory services to the field to drive deal structuring and provide direction and support to the Services Sales Team and CE&A Team in the different stages of the sales cycle to help SAP maximize value and minimize risks. The primary responsibilities of this role are as follow:
- Lead deal support across multi-functional internal teams (Commercial Business Partners, Revenue Recognition, Finance, Legal) on complex deal scenarios.
- Evaluate and analyze potential deals, considering revenue, costs, and compliance.
- Facilitate the full deal approval process, ensuring stakeholder engagement.
- Verify all deals for compliance with financial, legal, and revenue recognition standards when needed.
- Manage contract drafting by:
- Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts to ensure terms align with deal approvals.
- Collaborating with Sales during customer negotiations, on commercial customer feedback regarding contract/negotiation strategy and content, and finding compliant solutions to ensure customer success.
- Incorporating commercial clauses and relevant provisions into contracts, ensuring clarity and alignment with company objectives.
- Working with Legal teams to address and mitigate contract-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and management policies.
- Act as a trusted advisor for decision makers, including close collaboration with the MU CFO.
- Provide training and guidance to sales and other teams on financial and compliance-related aspects of deal structuring and contract negotiations.
- Maintain open and clear communication with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding throughout the deal lifecycle.
- Engage in the enhancement of established processes and actively contribute to simplification initiatives, enhancing support by taking full advantage of AI.
- Initiate ideas for improving policies and automating processes.
Experience (Role Requirements)
- At least 2 years of experience in a multi-functional role within a matrix model, with a background in finance, service, sales, product knowledge, or project management.
- Basic understanding of financial concepts and policies.
- Collaborative style to work with different parts of the SAP organization during the negotiation process.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Strong ability to gather and reorganize information effectively from multiple resources.
- Good listening skills and attention to detail.
- A team player with a collaborative style to work with multiple groups.
- Ability to manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
IT Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and ERP systems.
- Interest in AI tools and strong organizational abilities.
Languages
- Advanced written and spoken English and in German.
Work Environment
This position will be based in New Cairo with a hybrid working model.
