Are you an experienced Veterinary Receptionist, Veterinary Client Service Representative (CSR), or Veterinary Customer Care Professional who thrives in a fast-paced veterinary environment and enjoys building meaningful relationships with pet owners?
Animal Hospital of Lewisville is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in creating an exceptional client experience while supporting the daily operations of our hospital.
We are seeking an individual with previous veterinary reception, veterinary customer service, or veterinary hospital experience who can confidently manage client interactions, appointment scheduling, patient records, and front-desk operations with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate understands that veterinary reception is much more than answering phones—it is helping guide clients through some of the most important and emotional moments in their pets' lives.

What You'll Do
Client Experience & Customer Service
- Greet clients and patients with warmth, professionalism, and empathy
- Create positive first impressions and deliver exceptional customer service
- Assist clients during routine visits, urgent care appointments, and emotionally sensitive situations
- Answer questions regarding hospital services, policies, and patient care recommendations
- Support client retention through relationship-focused communication
Appointment Scheduling & Hospital Coordination
- Schedule and confirm appointments efficiently
- Manage multiple phone lines while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
- Coordinate appointment flow to support hospital efficiency
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes
- Maintain accurate client and patient records
Administrative & Financial Responsibilities
- Process payments and maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare estimates and explain billing information as directed
- Manage medical records and documentation
- Support prescription refill requests and client communications
- Assist with daily administrative tasks and hospital organization
Team Collaboration
- Partner closely with veterinarians, technicians, and assistants to support patient care
- Communicate effectively regarding schedule changes, client concerns, and patient needs
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1+ year of veterinary reception or veterinary client service experience required
- Experience working in a veterinary hospital, animal hospital, emergency hospital, or specialty practice
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable discussing estimates, invoices, and financial transactions
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Professional demeanor and positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with veterinary practice management software
- Experience scheduling appointments in a veterinary setting
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology
- Familiarity with preventive care recommendations and common veterinary services
- Experience supporting busy multi-doctor practices

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This position requires the ability to:
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the hospital during the workday

- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and vendors
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
- Navigate a fast-paced veterinary environment with frequent interruptions
Work Environment
Team members should be comfortable working in an environment that may include exposure to:
- Animal dander, fur, saliva, urine, feces, and other bodily fluids
- Cleaning agents, disinfectants, and veterinary-specific chemicals
- Barking dogs, vocalizing animals, and other hospital-related noise
- Emotionally sensitive situations involving ill, injured, or end-of-life patients
- Fast-paced client interactions and changing daily priorities
Team members are expected to follow all hospital safety protocols and contribute to a safe, respectful, and professional work environment.
