- Manages, reviews, evaluates and directs procedures and objectives within the Office of District Clerk.
- Ensures deadlines, production schedules and reports are in compliance.
- Serves as liaison between District Clerk’s Office and other county offices and departments.
- Assigns and monitors special projects within the District Clerk’s Office.
- Administers all aspects of operations.
- Participates in planning of policies, objectives and budget for the District Clerk’s Office.
- Provides executive level support to the District Clerk and Chief Deputies.
- Conducts department meetings with supervisory support team for staff.
- Primary oversight of records management system & involved in software upgrades, troubleshooting and recommendations.
- Approves time off requests of subordinates.
- Reviews legislation and assists with change management.
- Manages Passport Acceptance Compliance as set out by the US Department of State.
- Manages Public Information Act (PIA) requests from media and ensures compliance with PIA requests
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of college or equivalent business administrative training. (Two years job related experience may be substituted for college requirement, in addition to experience requirement.) Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5 years strong administrative management experience.
- Strong supervisory, organizational, interpersonal, diplomacy and problem solving skills; good computer and typing skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with employees, the public, and elected and appointed officials.
- General knowledge of Texas Statute pertaining to duties and requirements of the District Clerk.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Routinely required to take Defensive Driving through classes offered by Fort Bend County Risk Management and provide continual proof of vehicle insurance.
- Must be eligible to become Passport Acceptance Agent in accordance with the U.S. Department of State regulations within 30 days of employment.
- Must complete Cyber Security Training; Must complete Annual PIA Training offered by the Office of the Attorney General;
- Required by statute to be deputized and bonded as Deputy District Clerk.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $32.26 - $40.33 hourly based on qualifications
CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
