The Manufacturing Training Specialist will design, develop, and deliver training programs to enhance our manufacturing team members’ technical skills, performance, and compliance. This role collaborates with manufacturing department leaders to identify training needs, create engaging content, and ensure manufacturing members are equipped to meet company standards for safety, quality, and productivity. The Manufacturing Training Specialist will play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous learning with a strong emphasis on internal professional development while aligning training initiatives with organizational goals.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop Training Programs: Design and implement manufacturing training materials, including manuals, standard work procedures, e-learning modules, and hands-on activities tailored to food manufacturing processes, food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, HACCP), and company policies.
- Deliver Training Sessions: Conduct engaging training sessions, workshops, and onboarding programs for new and existing employees, covering topics such as food safety, equipment operation, quality control, and workplace policies.
- Assess Training Needs: Partner with Operations Management to identify skill gaps and training requirements through employee feedback, performance evaluations, and operational needs. Execute initiatives to upskill and enhance employee professional development.
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain up-to-date training records and ensure all employees meet mandatory training requirements for food safety, OSHA standards, and industry regulations.
- Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Measure the impact of training programs through assessments, surveys, and performance metrics, adjusting content as needed to improve outcomes.
- Support Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with quality assurance and production teams to integrate best practices into training programs and promote a culture of operational excellence.
- Maintain Training Materials: Update training content to reflect changes in processes, equipment, or regulations, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Facilitate Onboarding: Facilitate onboarding programs to help new hires quickly adapt to company culture, safety protocols, and job-specific tasks.

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred and/or a commensurate amount of education and experience within food manufacturing or other regulated industrial strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, FDA, USDA) and OSHA regulations.
- Skills that help:
- Experience with adult learning principles and training methodologies.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in developing training materials, including e-learning platforms and multimedia tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
- Works under limited supervision and has significant responsibility for needs identification and program design as well as facilitation or delivery of training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Certifications such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or food safety training certifications are a plus.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with a passion for fostering employee growth and maintaining a safe, compliant workplace.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during training sessions and move throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Occasional lifting of training materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
