Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic oversees and performs the preventive and reactive maintenance duties required for the manufacturing operations of the plant. Priorities include management and execution of PM schedules, repair of any equipment that is needed to maintain maximum production rates and maintenance of an adequate spare parts inventory. This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week and also fulfill on-call duties for repairs
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment
Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Facilities Manager or his designee
Communicate with all plant personnel
Understand and practice GF CORE VALUES
Adhere to ISO 9001Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements
Support other Business Units
Maintain and build job skills through company or external training programs
Responsible to maintain a safe working environment for all employees
Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor
Ensure that all scheduled Preventive Maintenance duties are completed in a timely manner
Ensure that all equipment is kept in a proper and safe working condition
Communicate with GF support services
Follow all company Safety rules and guidelines in operating machinery
Sustain the 6S system throughout all work areas
Maintain facility housekeeping
Troubleshoot and repair equipment that is not operating properly
Required Skills/Abilities:
Advanced industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic skills including troubleshooting
Understanding of GF manufacturing process including troubleshooting
Understand purpose and proper use of small hand and power tools
Strong time management and task prioritization skills
Self-motivating
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and communicate to other plant personnel
Education and Experience:
3-5 years’ experience in Hydraulics, Electrical, Electronics, and Mechanical
High School/Vocational School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production areas
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in extreme temperatures
Position requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
