
Billing Compliance Curriculum Development Specialist
Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain billing compliance curricula for providers, coders, reviewers, and revenue cycle staff, including onboarding, annual education, and targeted risk-based training.
• Translate audit findings, regulatory updates, and compliance risk areas into role-specific education materials.
• Develop standardized learning materials including presentations, job aids, reference guides, assessments, and virtual learning modules.
• Deliver education through live, virtual, small-group, and one-on-one formats using adult learning principles.
• Support new provider and staff onboarding with required billing compliance education.
• Collaborate with compliance reviewers to reinforce audit findings through targeted education.
• Align education priorities with the Billing Compliance annual work plan and enterprise risk assessment.
• Incorporate CMS, OIG, NCCI, and payer guidance into curriculum and communicate regulatory changes.
• Analyze audit and quality data to identify education gaps and measure effectiveness.
• Track and report education participation and outcomes.
• Serve as a billing compliance education resource across the organization.
• Maintain current knowledge of oncology billing, documentation, and coding requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Advanced knowledge of billing compliance regulations and coding guidelines (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS).
Strong instructional design and adult learning skill.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable education.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor's Degree. Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Business, Education, or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare billing, coding, auditing, compliance, or education.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, training delivery, or provider education.
• Experience in oncology professional and technical billing compliance preferred.
• Experience supporting enterprise compliance or audit programs preferred.
• Experience with Epic preferred.
• Experience developing virtual or asynchronous learning content preferred.
License/Certification/Registration Required:
One or more of the following certifications required: CPC, CCS, CCS-P, CPMA, COC, RHIT, RHIA

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
