Key Responsibilities

The Hotel Storekeeper is responsible for efficient inventory control, storage, and distribution of all hotel consumables onboard. This role ensures accurate stock levels, proper handling of goods, and adherence to company standards and safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory control processes for all hotel supplies, including food & beverage items, housekeeping materials, and guest amenities, ensuring that stock levels are accurately recorded, tracked, and consistently aligned with operational requirements and company budget targets.
  • Oversee the receiving process for all incoming deliveries, carefully inspecting quantities and product quality against purchase orders, identifying discrepancies or damages, and coordinating with provisioning and procurement teams to resolve issues in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of all inventory items, applying FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles, maintaining clear labeling systems, and strictly adhering to hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards (including HACCP requirements) to prevent contamination or spoilage.
  • Control and execute the distribution of goods to onboard departments, ensuring that all requisitions are processed accurately, authorized appropriately, and documented within the inventory system to maintain full traceability and accountability.
  • Perform regular physical stock counts and participate in monthly inventory audits, proactively identifying variances, investigating root causes of discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions to maintain stock accuracy and prevent loss or shrinkage.
  • Monitor inventory levels and consumption trends, providing timely reporting to leadership on potential shortages, overstock risks, or unusual usage patterns, and supporting forecast planning to optimize ordering cycles and reduce waste.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and maritime regulations, ensuring that storage areas, handling procedures, and documentation practices meet internal audit standards as well as external inspection requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with hotel operations, galley teams, and purchasing departments, fostering effective communication to ensure that operational needs are met without disruption while maintaining cost efficiency and inventory discipline.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or logistics operations, preferably within the hospitality, cruise, or large-scale catering industry, demonstrating the ability to manage high-volume stock in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven working knowledge of inventory management systems and digital tracking tools, with the ability to accurately input, extract, and analyze data to support operational decisions and reporting requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with a track record of maintaining accurate records, minimizing discrepancies, and ensuring structured storage systems even under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset while supporting diverse teams and operational demands onboard.
  • Good command of the English language (written and spoken), enabling clear communication with international colleagues, accurate documentation, and effective coordination across departments.
  • Solid understanding of safety, sanitation, and storage regulations, including food safety standards such as HACCP, and the ability to consistently apply these principles in daily operations.
  • Previous shipboard experience is highly preferred, particularly in a similar inventory, provisioning, or logistics role, reflecting familiarity with maritime operations and onboard life.
