Atlantic Pipe Services is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Vactor Truck Operator to join our growing team. This position is responsible for operating vacuum and high-pressure jetting equipment to perform sewer and storm drainage cleaning, maintenance, and emergency services. We are currently seeking experienced Vac Truck drivers with CDL licenses for full time positions.
The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, and able to lead by example while delivering high-quality work in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Vactor/Vacuum trucks and high-pressure jetting equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform sewer and storm drain cleaning, maintenance, and inspections
- Read and interpret sewer/storm drainage plans and underground utility layouts
- Coordinate daily job execution with clients, supervisors, and field crews
- Lead and train field helpers on safe work practices, equipment operation, and job procedures
- Complete daily logs, inspections, fuel reports, and documentation using a tablet/mobile device
- Inspect, maintain, clean, and organize trucks, hoses, nozzles, and tools
- Monitor equipment performance and ensure all required tools are available for daily operations
- Maintain high productivity while ensuring quality workmanship
- Troubleshoot field issues and develop safe, effective solutions
- Follow all company driving standards, OSHA regulations, and safety procedures
- Wear and maintain required PPE at all times
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of experience in sewer, storm drainage, utility, or related field work preferred
- Experience operating Vactor trucks, vacuum trucks, or hydro-jetting equipment strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL required valid Florida Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Clean Driving History
- Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment maintenance knowledge
- Experience using tablets or mobile devices for reporting and inspections
- Able to work regular hours (6:00AM – 5:00 PM). Occasional night and weekend work. Out of town work may apply
- Handling of specialized and fragile equipment
- Data entry (Daily logs, tracking information from hob sites, issues encountered, etc.)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform physical labor, including confined space and hazardous work environments when require
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Safety Requirements
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards
- Maintain a strong safety-first mindset on every job site
- Proper use of PPE is required at all times
- Ability to identify and respond to changing job site conditions and hazards
