Senior Surety Manager
Department: Forensic Accounting
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: Cherry Hill, NJ
Reporting To: Peter Fascia
Compensation: $145,000 - $175,000 / year
Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead forensic accounting and surety engagements involving:
- Contractor defaults
- Bonded construction projects
- Delay and disruption claims
- Funds flow analysis
- Cost-to-complete evaluations
- Claims quantification
- Financial investigations
- Recovery analysis
- Analyze:
- Financial statements
- Job cost reports
- Work-in-progress schedules
- Cash flow records
- Construction contracts and supporting documentation
- Support surety carriers and legal counsel through all phases of claims and litigation matters.
- Manage multiple concurrent engagements while maintaining quality, timeliness, and profitability.
- Prepare clear, concise, and defensible written reports and client presentations.
- Conduct interviews with principals, contractors, subcontractors, project stakeholders, and claimants.
- Mentor and develop Associates, Senior Associates, and Managers within the practice.
- Participate in client meetings, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation support activities.
- Assist in business development activities, including:
- Building client relationships
- Expanding surety market presence
- Supporting proposals and presentations
- Identifying cross-selling opportunities
- Coordinate with Partners and senior leadership on practice growth initiatives.
- Travel as needed to project sites, client meetings, and industry events.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in:
- Surety
- Construction accounting
- Forensic accounting
- Claims consulting
- Litigation support
- Fidelity insurance
- Construction risk or related disciplines
- Strong understanding of:
- Construction operations
- Project accounting
- Cost tracking
- Surety claims lifecycle
- Contract administration
- Advanced financial analysis and investigative accounting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and client-facing capabilities
- Ability to manage complex engagements independently
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
Preferred
- CPA, CFF, CVA, CFE, or similar designation
- Experience working with surety carriers or forensic consulting firms
- Expert witness or deposition support experience
- Familiarity with AIA contracts and construction law concepts
- Existing industry relationships within surety, insurance, or legal markets
