
Software Development Engineer, Ads Sales Assistant
Job Description
As part of the Sales Assistant team, you'll build gen AI applications, autonomous agents, customer-focused UX, workflows, and web services that make Amazon Ads' global sales teams dramatically more effective. You'll turn massive data sets and disparate systems into insight-driven products that help sales teams serve some of the world's best-known brands — as well as small businesses selling on Amazon.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who has built **scalable production gen AI applications** and tackled real-world challenges like accuracy, hallucinations, context limits, and agentic orchestration. Key job responsibilities
- Partner closely with design and product teams to understand customer needs, propose features, build rapid prototypes, and transform them into compelling, production-ready experiences.
- Drive innovation by introducing tools, frameworks, automations, and processes that elevate the entire team's development velocity.
- Write clean, maintainable code and uphold engineering quality through thoughtful peer code reviews.
- Deep-dive into client and server systems to optimize for performance, scalability, and extensibility.
- Mentor team members and champion engineering excellence across the org.

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
