JOB PURPOSE

e2Companies is seeking an Applications Engineer to serve as the bridge between our engineering and business development teams. In this role, you will translate customer power system requirements into technically sound, commercially viable solutions built around the Virtual Utility and R3Di System platforms. You will support the full sales cycle as the resident technical authority, own customer-facing solution design, and carry performance-based incentives tied directly to project outcomes and revenue contribution.
This position is based on-site at our Bonita Springs, FL headquarters. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Translate customer power reliability, resiliency, and efficiency requirements into system configurations using Virtual Utility platform capabilities
  • Provide technical expertise on high-voltage power systems, including protection and control systems, SCADA integration, RTU modernization, voltage regulation, transient response, and grid synchronization
  • Collaborate with engineering to develop system layouts, control narratives, and design documentation based on customer requirements
  • Coordinate with internal engineering and operations teams to validate design accuracy prior to proposal submission
  • Support FAT and SAT for switchgear and control systems; provide commissioning support for local and regional project deployments as needed
  • Troubleshoot protection, synchronization, and automation systems as needed during project delivery
  • Ensure proposed solutions align with applicable codes and standards including NEC, NFPA 70, IEEE 1547, and IEEE C37
  • Prepare cost estimates, ROI calculations, and technical documentation
  • Help train sales staff on technical details, system performance, and application scenarios
  • Serve as technical lead during the sales process in support of Business Development Managers
  • Conduct on-site preliminary site reviews alongside Business Development Managers to assess customer facility conditions, power infrastructure, and application fit prior to formal solution design
  • Meet with customers to understand their energy and facility needs
  • Explain the Virtual Utility and its R3Di system components in clear, simple terms to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Attend customer meetings, site visits, and industry events
  • Follow all safety procedures and represent e2Companies professionally at customer sites
  • Maintain accurate records of site visits and follow all access and compliance requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
 BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (MUST-HAVE)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in power systems, electrical infrastructure, utility operations, protection and control, or power systems testing and commissioning
  • Experience with high-voltage equipment, power conditioning, or grid integration in distributed energy systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medium-voltage distribution systems, protection schemes, and SCADA or control system integration
  • Proven experience leading FAT and SAT activities
  • Strong knowledge of DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, or equivalent communication protocols
  • Base knowledge of battery energy storage systems and renewable integration into distributed generation environments
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and fault analysis capability
  • Comfortable explaining technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Must comply with all site-specific safety, security, and training requirements
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • High accountability and ownership mindset
  • On-site presence required in Bonita Springs, FL
 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE-TO-HAVE)
  • 3+ years of experience with distributed energy systems such as natural gas generation, BESS, HV power systems, or microgrids
  • Experience with CHP systems and utility-interactive renewable systems
  • Familiarity with UL 2200 generator listings and NFPA 110 emergency power systems
  • Experience in mission-critical environments such as data centers, healthcare, or industrial manufacturing
  • Understanding of energy markets, demand response, or utility programs
  • Prior experience supporting technical sales or proposals
  • NETA Level 3 certification or equivalent field testing credential
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • Experience with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or similar power system modeling tools
 WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work may include site visits that require standing, walking, or climbing in industrial or outdoor environments
  • Must be able to safely navigate active construction and electrical environments with appropriate PPE (provided)
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required for equipment demonstrations or site activities
  • Must maintain compliance with all company safety policies and client site access requirements
