TEMPORARY ELECTIONS ASSISTANT

Job Description

Applicants are required to be a registered voter in Converse County.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week dependent upon workload from early-July through mid-November (see below for more information.)

This is not a benefited position.

Duties of Temporary Elections Assistant
  1. Assist public within statutory 28-day period prior to each election for absentee voting.
  2. Assist public in person with voter registration, absentee voting, absentee ballot requests.
  3. Assist public via phone with absentee requests.
  4. Assist public with Data entry into election system.
  5. Filing of completed and verified voter registration forms and absentee ballot request forms.
  6. Assist with processing of early absentee ballots.
  7. Develop understanding of Converse County Voter District and Precinct numbers.
  8. Assist with public testing processes, election staging and preparation, and other election duties and tasks as assigned.
  9. Other Information:
  • Hours during the day may vary depending on volume and workload;
  • Start and end dates of position correlate with testing dates as well as the 28-day absentee ballot period before each election.
  • Anticipated start date to be early July with the position ending by mid November 2026.
