Founded in 1975, BR+A Consulting Engineers maintains a total staff of over 500 employees located at our main office in Boston and branch offices in New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Vienna, VA (Washington, DC); Coral Gables, FL (Miami); Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Tampa, FL; Charlotte, NC; Charleston, SC; Houston, TX; New Haven, CT; Los Angeles, CA; and Toronto. BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services.
BR+A is seeking a Plumbing Designer in our Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience and the following skills:
- Experience in specification writing;
- Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects;
- Coordinate with other disciplines;
- Develop calculations for Plumbing system sizing;
- A thorough knowledge of local Plumbing Codes;
- Understand work planning and manage the design process to the available hours in the work plan;
- Ability to meet with clients and work with contractors;
- Oversee deliverables to and from clients;
- Strongly motivated, well organized, shows professional initiative;
- Take ownership of assignments and work both independently and as part of the project team.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- Proficient in Auto CAD and Revit
- Previous experience in designing Healthcare, Commercial, Higher Education or Laboratory projects;
- Excellent Organizational and Communication skills;
- Proactive and Collaborative team member;
- EIT (Engineer in Training) License is a plus.
