Job Description

Job Title: Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA)
Location: Huntington Living Center – Waterloo, NY

Huntington Living Center is seeking an experienced and visionary Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) to provide leadership and operational oversight of our long-term care facility. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and a positive, mission-driven culture aligned with organizational values.

Vice President of Long-Term Care (VP LTC)


Supervisory Responsibilities

The LNHA provides leadership and oversight to the following roles and departments:

  • Activities Supervisor
  • Administrative Assistant A
  • Assistant Administrator
  • Director of Nursing (Long-Term Care)
  • LTC Clinical Education Coordinator
  • LTC Clinical Leader
  • MDS Coordinator
  • Receptionist
  • Safety Screen Associate
  • Social Worker (BSW)
  • Staffing Coordinator

Position Summary

Under the direction of the VP LTC, the Administrator establishes, administers, directs, and evaluates long-term care policies and procedures. This leader participates in strategic planning, program development, and operational decision-making to support organizational goals. The Administrator is responsible for overseeing daily LTC operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining excellence in resident care and service delivery.

This role also plays a key part in budget development and implementation, while ensuring alignment with financial and operational objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for facility operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements (state, federal, CMS, and applicable standards)
  • Oversee development and implementation of LTC policies, procedures, and programs
  • Lead budget development, financial performance monitoring, and capital planning initiatives
  • Drive quality improvement, safety, and resident satisfaction initiatives
  • Support and develop departmental leaders and supervisory staff
  • Ensure effective staffing, workforce planning, and team development strategies
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of new programs and services
  • Maintain strong communication with residents, families, staff, and system leadership

Education

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree
Preferred: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field


Licensure / Certification

  • Current New York State Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) license required

Experience

Minimum:

  • Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in a sub-acute or long-term care setting
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory or management experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in nursing home operations, compliance, finance, quality, safety, and resident satisfaction
  • Experience in hospital or long-term care operations required

Preferred:

  • Extensive experience in long-term care leadership within a healthcare system environment

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team development abilities
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-department operations
  • Effective decision-making under pressure and competing priorities
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, including CMS and JCAHO standards
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
  • Ability to build and sustain a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment

Population Specific Requirements

Demonstrates knowledge and skill necessary to provide leadership and services appropriate for adult and geriatric populations, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.


Exposure Classification

Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is not reasonably anticipated. Normal work duties do not involve exposure to blood,

Compensation

Salary Range: $140,000 – $160,000 annually
(Based on years of experience as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator)
