We are looking for an Overnight Fleet Readiness Technician to join our Atlanta-based operations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This is an on-site, overnight role with hours from Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. You will be responsible for ensuring every vehicle in our autonomous fleet is well maintained and operationally ready before the first shift arrives — and that important data is fully audited, offloaded, and accounted for in the cloud.
You'll conduct daily readiness checks, manage the end-to-end dashcam data retention lifecycle, and coordinate fleet status across teams to support safety and performance. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in handing off a fleet that is spotless, fully audited, and ready to run. Attention to detail, accountability, self-direction, and a deep passion for safety are key attributes required for this position.
You Will
Fleet Readiness & Mechanical
Conduct overnight readiness checks on every tug, ensuring each unit is staged and ready for first-shift operations
Clean tug interiors, exteriors, windshields, cameras, and sensor housings to maintain fleet sensor visibility
Triage mechanical issues beyond scope and coordinate with external maintenance partners to prioritize repairs against operational demand
Dashcam Data Retention & Audits
Complete daily dashcam SD card and data offloads, ensuring all footage from the prior shift is fully uploaded to the cloud before clearing local storage
Run audit and identify gaps in time or missing files
Perform SD card formatting per protocol to ensure offloader compatibility
Manage physical offloaders to ensure efficiency and successful nightly offloads
Manage physical labelling, organization, and inventory of SD card kits and offloader hardware
Fleet Logistics & Cross-Team Coordination
Track tractor fleet status and report on current vehicle conditions
Document all overnight work in shift reports, including units serviced, defects identified, parts needed, and footage offload status
Report hardware failures, downed units, missing cards, or safety concerns via designated channels
Conduct shift handoff with the incoming Supervisor and operator team, communicating fleet status and any units pulled from service
Contribute to and refine best practices documentation for SD card handling and dashcam processes
Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all PPE and ramp safety protocols
You Have
High school diploma or GED
Valid US driver's license
Must be able to pass federal background checks and receive and maintain issuance of an airport security badge
Availability to work Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, on-site at ATL
Strong log-keeping and documentation skills
Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), Slack, and ticketing tools (e.g., Jira)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on an overnight schedule
Demonstrated commitment to safety and operational excellence
We Prefer
Prior experience in aviation, airport, or airside operations
Familiarity with autonomous systems or autonomous vehicle operations
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This role is performed primarily in an active airside environment at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on an overnight schedule (Monday–Friday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM). The Fleet Readiness Technician must be able to:
Work overnight hours in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and high humidity
Stand, walk, and remain on foot for extended periods throughout the shift
Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb in and out of ground support equipment as required
Work in proximity to active aircraft, with exposure to jet noise, jet blast, fumes, and other ramp-environment hazards
Handle small hardware components (MicroSD cards, sleeves, card readers) with dexterity
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times when on the ramp
Maintain a high level of alertness and situational awareness in a dynamic, fast-paced operational setting
