Job Description
The Lab Director will oversee the operations of the Enterprise Clinical Laboratory at Lake Region Healthcare. The position ensures positive financial performance, cost effective utilization of departmental resources and equipment, as well as the implementation of innovative cost and quality initiatives to improve performance. The incumbent identifies gaps in services, assists with physician recruitment activities, and identifies opportunities and threats in relation to new business development, programs and services which can increase revenues. The individual develops and implements business plans working collaboratively with administrators, department directors, physicians, nursing and other key staff.
This position requires a highly trained, specialized individual who can work well under stressful situations. The director works closely with the Executive Vice President-Clinical Operations, the Pathologist, Lab staff, office staff, Nursing Service, providers, and other LRH personnel. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The incumbent has access to sensitive, confidential information and must be able to maintain those confidences. The incumbent establishes practices, work procedures, priorities and objectives within imposed deadlines.
Compensation
$118,350 - $163,450 annually. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

- Education/Special Skills: Requires a Bachelor's degree, Knowledge of health programs, clinic/hospital systems, program development and budgets, product line management, research procedures, and general medical facilities operations is required. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to promote/maintain teamwork internally and externally. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills.

- Must be able to attend work site per schedule, travel throughout the community, state and country, and available for consultation via telephone. Duties may require change of shift to accommodate workload and/or labor supply shortage.
