Job Description
The Sales Consultant is responsible for creating an exceptional customer experience while helping customers find the right vehicle to fit their needs, lifestyle, and budget. This role builds lasting customer relationships through product knowledge, professionalism, and a consultative sales approach.
The ideal candidate is customer-focused, motivated, and driven to achieve individual and team sales goals while maintaining transparency and integrity throughout the sales process.
What You’ll Do
Customer Experience & Sales
- Welcome and assist showroom visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Understand customer needs and recommend vehicles that best match their preferences and budget
- Demonstrate vehicle features, capabilities, and technology through presentations and test drives
- Explain and compare vehicle models, trims, features, and financing options clearly and confidently
- Guide customers through the purchasing process with transparency and excellent communication
Relationship Building & Follow-Up
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat and referral business
- Maintain regular follow-up communication with prospective and existing customers
- Manage customer information and sales activity within dealership CRM systems
- Deliver a high level of customer service before, during, and after the sale
Sales Performance & Team Collaboration
- Work toward individual and dealership sales goals and performance expectations
- Participate in sales meetings, product training, and ongoing professional development
- Stay informed on current inventory, manufacturer programs, incentives, and market trends
- Collaborate with team members and dealership departments to ensure a seamless customer experience
Showroom & Operational Support
- Assist with maintaining showroom appearance, vehicle displays, and lot organization
- Complete required sales documentation accurately and timely
- Support dealership events, promotions, and marketing initiatives as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Previous automotive sales experience preferred, but not required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Professional appearance, positive attitude, and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varying schedules as needed
Work Environment
This role includes a combination of showroom, office, and outdoor work environments, including:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and entering/exiting vehicles
- Regular use of computers, phones, and dealership software systems
- Exposure to varying weather conditions while assisting customers outdoors
- Occasional exposure to elevated noise levels and dealership service areas
