Join the winning team at RoadDog in Dayton, OH! As the face of our company, the Kitchen Manager plays a key role in creating an exceptional experience for both customers and team members. We are looking for a hands-on leader with strong kitchen and management experience who is passionate about operational excellence and team development who is ready to take pride in managing a brand new kitchen! The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations at the assigned RoadDog store, ensuring food is prepared according to established standards and that all food safety and sanitation protocols are strictly followed.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and supervise all kitchen staff to ensure proper food preparation, presentation, and cleanliness.
- Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards are consistently maintained.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the full menu and train staff accordingly on food preparation and presentation standards.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and promptly report malfunctions to the appropriate manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas and equipment, adhering to a clean-as-you-go policy.
- Manage weekly food service ordering and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Conduct end-of-month inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting.
- Ensure all food products meet quality specifications, procedures, and hold times.
- Deliver excellent guest service by welcoming customers and preparing food orders with a positive attitude.
- Accurately operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handle transactions, and provide change.
- Ensure kitchen and cooler areas are well-stocked, clean, and organized.
- Lifting Requirements - Medium to Heavy - lifting to 50 pounds frequently
- Continuously stand and/or walk on hard floors to prepare and cook food, get stock items, and transport items to/from the kitchen, stock room, food prep area and front lines for periods of up to eight (8) hours.
- Requires bending, standing and walking during the entire shift. frequently push or pull trashcans, brooms, mops, and mop buckets.
- Occasionally to frequently climb a footstool or ladder to reach items located on stack shelves, in coolers, freezers, stockrooms, etc.
- Frequently stoop or squat to reach items on low shelves or on the floor.
- Continuously reach overhead, forward, and underneath shelving, counters, tables, refrigeration units, racks, drink dispensers, fryers, batter table and ovens.
- Continuously handle a variety of shapes and sizes and textures of items, which include, but are not limited to: Dairy products, produce, condiments, meat/poultry, bulk stock items, and paper work.
- Continuously use fingers to bilaterally prepare food, unload boxes, etc.
- Continuously communicate with and listen to customers, management and other team members to ensure optimal performance.
Education and Experience:
- 2 years management experience
- 3 years food experience including customer service and food prep
