Job Description

 

Summary: Directs the organization’s financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship with lending institutions by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization’s fiscal functions.
  • Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets and financial reports that will assist the President and other senior managers in managing their responsibilities.
  • Develop, enhance, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization.
  • Continual improvement of the timeliness and accuracy of the company’s cash flow.
  • Oversight of the billing process and develop efficiencies to maximize the company’s collection process.
  • Develop reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism.
  • Ability to implement processes improvements.
  • Participate in the negotiation of sales and operating contracts.
  • Maintain banking and external accounting relationships.
  • Manage tax treatment for company transactions and compliance with required tax filings.
  • Develop, negotiate and execute on employee incentive programs.
  • Responsible for insurance programs dealing with mitigating risk of company’s operations.
  • May be asked to be responsible for management of the company in the absence of the President/CEO.
  • Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, and the ability to work on–site.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out Executive Management responsibilities in accordance with Kelvion Inc. policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Directing employees’ work; setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work of employees; planning and controlling the budget for department; providing for the safety of the employees; planning the work; determining the techniques to be used; apportioning the work among the workers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) or equivalent in Finance, Accounting or Business required 
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant or other financial designations preferred
  • Seven years of related experience and/or training 

 

LANGUAGE AND BUSINESS SKILLS 

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. 
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to make presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or company boards of directors. 
  • Superior financial and accounting skills
  • Excellent knowledge of business operations in general
  • Proven leadership skills 
  • Expert working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

  • Ability to apply advanced financial and accounting concepts, including but not limited to return on sales, return on investment, return on equity, percentage of completion revenue recognition, net present values, application of lease and other complex accounting transactions, etc. 
  • Ability to apply complex financial and office uses to software applications, including but not limited to financial applications (Made2Manage or other applications), Microsoft Excel formulas, etc. 

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (Formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

 

TRAVEL

Travel up to 30% by land and/or air.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

May have occasion to be in manufacturing area, which has moving mechanical equipment, hazards associated with welding, airborne mists and particles, chemicals and loud shop noises.
