Job Description
Regional West Medical Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support our Pharmacy Department. All work performed by the Pharmacy Technician is reviewed and verified by a licensed pharmacist.
A Day in the Life
As a Pharmacy Technician, you’ll support pharmacists by preparing and packaging medications for patient use and ensuring everything is ready for pharmacist review. You’ll help stock and maintain automated dispensing systems (Pyxis) and deliver medications and supplies to nursing units throughout the hospital.
You’ll assist with inventory tasks such as checking expired or low-stock medications, restocking supplies, and helping prepare emergency medication kits. With training, you will also help prepare IV medications while following safety and infection control guidelines.
Throughout the day, you’ll interact professionally with patients and healthcare staff, help keep accurate records, and follow all pharmacy policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Licensure & Certification
- Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the State of Nebraska prior to start date
- Individuals registered after January 1, 2016 are required to obtain CPhT certification within one year of the Pharmacy Technician registration issue date issued by the State
Experience
- No prior pharmacy technician experience required

- No drug-related felony or misdemeanor convictions
