Responsibilities
The project office is seeking an experience Senior Network Architect to lead the strategic design, documentation, and risk management of the Clients network infrastructure. In this role, you will assess and document the current (“as-is”) network architecture, develop a forward-looking (“to-be”) design, and ensure holistic risk mitigation across all integrated networks. You will play a key role in aligning IT infrastructure with organizational strategic and mission objectives, while standardizing security practices to enhance overall resilience and efficiency. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support scalable, secure, and mission-critical network operations.
Mandatory/Required Experience:
- Strong knowledge of routing/switching, WAN, VPN, segmentation, and high availability design.
- Hands-on expertise with firewall architectures and operations (policy design, NAT, threat prevention, logging/monitoring).
- Experience performing risk assessments and designing mitigations at the system-of-systems level.
- Proven ability to create clear network architecture documentation and diagrams.
- Experience documenting as-is and to-be network architecture (topologies, data flow, dependencies, configurations, inventories).
- Experience implementing network security standards and reference architecture (firewall, segmentation, routing policies, secure remote access).
- Experience with communicating complex information in a clear, concise manner and navigation complex organizational dynamics to achieve project goals.
- Experience with interfacing effectively with industrial partners and internal teams to guide critical cyber security documents to approval.
- Experience with building and maintaining strong, productive relationships with key stakeholders and upper management.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience in strategic planning, such as developing IT investment roadmaps or conducting technology gap analyses.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies like edge computing or AI-Driven network management
Qualifications
Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
- Degree in engineering or technology field, or equivalent industry experience
TS/SCI with Poly required
