
Food and Beverage Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and hands-on Food & Beverage Manager to lead operations for Toasted Barrel at the Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Downtown/Gaslamp Quarter. This role is ideal for a hospitality leader who is passionate about guest experience, team development, building sales through promotions and outlet initiatives, and delivering elevated service.
This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Job Requirements:
- Oversee daily food and beverage operations to ensure service standards, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction Drive food and beverage revenue through strategic marketing initiatives, menu development, promotions, package offerings, and sales-driven initiatives designed to increase overall outlet performance
- Oversee food and beverage operations for meetings and events within the hotel’s meeting space to help ensure successful event execution and guest satisfaction
- Monitor inventory levels, ordering, and vendor relationships to support operational needs and cost controls
- Assist in developing and achieving departmental financial goals and budgets
- Accurately forecast food and beverage revenues and expenses
- Identify revenue opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and potential operational challenges
- Lead, coach, and develop the food & beverage team while fostering a positive, accountable, and guest-focused culture
- Ensure team members are properly trained on service standards, operational procedures, sanitation, and health code compliance
- Maintain high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, safety, and food and beverage quality to ensure compliance with regulations and exceptional guest service
- Maintain a visible and active presence during service periods to support the team and deliver an elevated guest experience
- Serve as Manager on Duty for the hotel as scheduled, supporting overall operations, guest satisfaction and team members as needed
Job Qualifications:
- Previous food and beverage leadership experience required; hotel food and beverage experience preferred
- Experience overseeing restaurant, bar, and/or meeting/event operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment preferred
- Proficiency with POS and PMS systems
- Highly motivated team player with strong initiative, leadership skills, and a results-driven mindset
- Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve operational challenges in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining professionalism and service standards
- Readily available and approachable for guests and team members while providing exceptional guest service
