Job Description
A St.Joseph Cardinal Preschool Aide supports the lead preschool teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This role involves assisting with classroom activities, supervising children, and helping maintain a positive, organized classroom that promotes social, spiritual, emotional, and academic growth.
- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities, lessons, and learning centers
- Supervise children during classroom time, outdoor play, meals, and rest periods
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Encourage positive behavior and model appropriate social skills
- Assist with preparing learning materials and classroom displays
- Observe children and report concerns or notable behaviors to the teacher
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations
- Communicate respectfully with teachers, staff, and families as directed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Early childhood education experience preferred
- Ability to work well with young children and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
