Job Title: Environmental Services Technician
Organization: Andwell Health Partners
Location: Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, Scarborough Maine
Schedule: Per Diem (16 Hours-Every other weekend availability required)

The Environmental Services Technician plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comforting environment for patients, families, and staff within the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, compassion, and respect for the sensitive nature of end-of-life care.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of facility including patient rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and clinical spaces
- Follow infection control protocols and safety standards specific to healthcare and hospice settings
- Handle waste disposal, including biohazard materials, in accordance with regulations
- Replenish supplies such as linens, paper goods, and cleaning materials
- Respond promptly to cleaning needs
- Maintain cleaning equipment and report any maintenance or safety issues
- Interact respectfully with patients, families, and staff, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
- Support a peaceful and dignified environment aligned with hospice care values
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or healthcare cleaning preferred
- Knowledge of infection control practices is a plus
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing, bending, lifting, and pushing equipment
- Compassionate demeanor and sensitivity to end-of-life care environments
- Every other weekend availability required
Work Environment
This role is based in a Hospice House setting, where care is centered on comfort, dignity, and quality of life. The Environmental Services Technician must be comfortable working in an environment where patients are receiving end-of-life care and families may be present.
